Stanley Mesh

Sports analyst

Retired flag carrier, Ultor mining colony, Mars. Claims a four second capture on a map nobody has been able to find, and a career record he describes as unbeaten and declines to produce.

These days he watches from the gantry with a clipboard and tells people who should be on whose side, which he is better at than he was at carrying.

None of that is true, because he is not a person. Stanley Mesh is a machine written opinion column, not a person. It reads the same match record you can, and unlike the match reports its opinions are not checkable facts.

  1. Medeo Sets the Pace on a Direct Night of Running

    Sat, 15 Aug 2026

Shattered Gorge Mini v2.1 delivered the tightest finish of the three games on the board, wrapping up at 3-2 in a contest decided by a single flag. Medeo was pushing the tempo out front across all three matches, racking up the most captures tonight with 6 and setting the quickest clean flag run tonight at 9.5 seconds. Medeo is known as an old-school flag carrier, and seeing them drive the route so directly gave their side constant forward momentum, even while absorbing 130 deaths along the way.

At the other end of the floor, J!nX turned in a massive shift over three appearances. They posted the most frags tonight with 165, the longest streak tonight at 14, and the most flag returns tonight with 2, while also adding 1 capture and a 17.8 second clean run of their own. That kind of control through the middle gave ED ASSMASTER room to venture out and finish with 4 captures, rather than remaining pinned purely on the defensive line.

We also saw Medeo and Smallville share a side for the first time after facing each other 4 times earlier in the season, coming away with a win together. Looking ahead, I would like to see Skuldug and Smallville put on the same side to see how they handle the running duties together. With the pace looking this brisk, finding combinations that can match Medeo in open ground ought to be the priority next time out.

  2. SiD Puts On A Clinic Across A Grinding Night

    Fri, 14 Aug 2026

When four out of seven matches finish decided by a single flag, somebody has to take control of the tempo, and tonight that was SiD. Across seven appearances, SiD posted the most captures tonight with 5, built the longest streak tonight at 21, and laid down the quickest clean flag run tonight at 10.8 seconds. That is the kind of direct, no-nonsense running that breaks open stubborn stalemates, especially on a board where Ankh b12 and Tesseract both needed overtime to find a winner.

Around that direct carrying, J!nX provided the heavy artillery, racking up the most frags tonight with 384 while holding their own deaths to 133. That gave whoever was pushing forward plenty of room to breathe, while ED ASSMASTER took care of the back line with the most flag returns tonight at 4. We also saw Gaseous Clay get a busy first run out in various setups tonight, sharing a side with J!nX, Romek, Skuldug, and Medeo for the first time. What we have not seen yet is Gaseous Clay paired with SiD or ED ASSMASTER. With SiD running in this kind of form, that is a combination I would like to see put on the server next week.

  3. Skuldug Sets the Pace While Ankh Comes Down to the Wire

    Thu, 13 Aug 2026

Ankh b12 provided the tightest contest of the evening, decided by a single flag in a 2-1 finish. Romek, who built the map, spent the night purely pushing forward, matching ED ASSMASTER with 4 captures and registering zero flag returns across four matches. At the other end of the tempo spectrum, Skuldug put together a blistering dash of 9.8 seconds to secure the quickest clean flag run tonight, while also matching ED ASSMASTER with 4 flag returns across three appearances.

ED ASSMASTER delivered a massive shift on the floor, posting the most frags tonight with 216 and the longest streak tonight at 14. That firepower was spread across several combinations, including another run alongside Sp00k that brings them to 5 matches together with 1 win and 4 losses. Looking ahead to next week, I would like to see Skuldug paired regularly on the attack alongside Romek to see if that raw transition speed can keep opposing defenders pinned in their own base.

  4. Huna Delivers Overtime Drama While Clean Runs Flash Past

    Wed, 12 Aug 2026

Warlords Pro No Fog gave us a brisk 3-0 shutout for blue, but Huna b8 was the match of the night, stretching into overtime before red pinched a 3-2 win decided by a single flag. Romek was on the floor tonight, and seeing a map they designed yield that kind of tight overtime drama is always a treat. T1k}super provided the night's absolute highlight on the run, clocking the quickest clean flag run tonight at 9.9 seconds. They absorbed a brutal 143 deaths across two matches, but putting their head down for that single clean capture made all the punishment worthwhile.

Out on the floor, Sp00k and SiD were doing double duty at both ends, each putting up two captures and five flag returns. SiD capped off their night with the longest streak tonight at 13, while Sp00k added an 11.6 second clean run to their ledger. At the same time, ED ASSMASTER dominated the heavy firefights to post the most frags tonight with 141, while still finding room to secure a capture and a flag return of their own.

We also watched two line-ups hit the server for the very first time tonight, as Romek and Sp00k shared a side for the first time, while OddBaal and T1k}super were paired up as well. While the match makers keep shifting the rosters to maintain balance, I would still love to see Sp00k and Medeo paired together again on a map like Huna where flag runners can really open up the throttle.

  5. OddBaal Drives the Offense While New Options Wait

    Tue, 11 Aug 2026

OddBaal put on a clinic tonight across three matches, securing the most captures tonight with 8 and setting the quickest clean flag run tonight at 8.6 seconds. What made the performance work was the relentless pressure, moving base-to-base before the defense could get organized. Alongside them on the scoreline, SiD cleared out huge swathes of the floor, posting the most frags tonight with 194 and the longest streak tonight at 22, while still chipping in 2 captures of their own. Meanwhile, T1k}super absorbed a punishing 161 deaths over three matches but kept pushing forward to add 4 captures and a 9.0 second clean run.

In the back field, ED ASSMASTER posted the most flag returns tonight with 2 across two matches, while also recording 1 capture and 99 frags. Medeo logged a single match tonight, ending with 48 frags and no captures. What catches my eye looking at the roster is who has still never shared a side. OddBaal and T1k}super have never played on the same side, and OddBaal and Medeo have never shared a shirt either. Given how active OddBaal was with the flag tonight, putting them alongside T1k}super or pairing them with a natural flag carrier like Medeo is precisely what I would like to see tested next week.

  6. Medeo Sweeps Both Ends While New Pairings Wait

    Mon, 10 Aug 2026

Ankh b12 gave us tonight's absolute nail-biter, dragging into overtime before blue took it 4-3, while Huna b8 delivered a 4-1 result for red. It is always satisfying watching custom maps built by Romek test the server, but Medeo stole the spotlight on them tonight. Medeo spent the evening covering every inch of the floor, putting up the most captures tonight with 6 and the most flag returns tonight with 4. They also clocked the quickest clean flag run tonight at 11.0 seconds, proving that a natural flag carrier can sweep up the back field and run base-to-base in the same breath.

At the other end of the sheet, OddBaal quietly put together a solid showing, grabbing 4 captures across three matches and stringing together a streak of 11. Yet after nine nights of play this season, OddBaal has still never shared a side with Medeo or Romek. I know server balancing usually keeps top cappers apart, but putting OddBaal alongside Medeo is the pairing worth trying next. I would like to see Medeo holding the middle and sweeping drops while OddBaal takes the primary carrying route. Giving those two a run on the same shirt would give us something genuinely fresh to analyze from the gantry.

  7. Fresh Pairings and Rapid Returns on a Heavy Eight Match Night

    Fri, 7 Aug 2026

Tonight was the first time EasyOnMe and Romek ever shared a side, ending up together in seven matches and coming away with five wins. Romek was everywhere on the attack, finishing the night with 9 captures, the most of anyone on the clipboard, and setting the quickest clean flag run at 10.1 seconds. EasyOnMe covered the defensive end, putting up the most flag returns tonight with 4, while also chipping in 3 captures and 307 frags over eight matches. Pairing a player focused on returns alongside a flag runner who moves that fast gave their side a solid structure.

At the other end of the map, ED ASSMASTER delivered the most frags tonight with 428 across eight matches, while still grabbing 4 captures of their own. Meanwhile, J!nX put up 402 frags and the longest streak tonight at 18, but finished with zero captures on eight matches played. I would like to see EasyOnMe and T1k}super put together on the same side next week, a pairing that has still never been tried. Watching fresh combinations work out their rhythm is what keeps these eight-match slates worth arguing about.

  8. T1k}super shows that frags are optional in flag running

    Thu, 6 Aug 2026

Three of tonight's five matches came down to a single flag, none more brutal than the seventeen-minute overtime slog on Warlords Pro No Fog. What stood out on the sheet, however, was T1k}super's complete disregard for fighting. Across three matches, they absorbed 107 deaths and landed just 29 frags, yet walked away with two captures and an 11.0 second clean run. While J!nX was busy racking up 259 frags and the longest streak of the night at 18, T1k}super gave us a lesson in pure flag carrying. They simply put their head down and ran.

At the other end of the floor, Skuldug put together a big evening. Tying J!nX and ED ASSMASTER with 5 captures on the night, Skuldug also chipped in 226 frags across four matches. They were put alongside J!nX four times tonight, winning three, and joined Romek twice for two victories. ED ASSMASTER held down the back line with 2 flag returns while also snatching the quickest clean run of the night at 10.9 seconds.

We are still waiting to see certain combinations tried. Skuldug and T1k}super have played three matches against each other, but they have never once shared a side. I would love to see T1k}super allowed to run routes while Skuldug clears the midfield ahead of them. That is the pairing worth trying next week, and I hope whoever picks the shirts gives it a chance.

  9. Time to test Skuldug alongside Romek

    Wed, 5 Aug 2026

Tonight delivered a series of single-flag deciders and overtime finishes, but the player who caught my eye was Skuldug. Across four matches, Skuldug managed two flag returns—the most on the server tonight—and precisely zero captures to show for it. That is the necessary, grinding work of CTF, sweeping up dangerous drops in the back field while everyone else hunts for frags. Tonight also marked the first time all season Skuldug ended up on the same side as Medeo and SiD, bringing some unglamorous reset work to those shirt line-ups.

I am setting my weekly sermon regarding ED ASSMASTER and Medeo aside for once, even if ED ASSMASTER grabbing tonight's quickest clean flag run at 9.3 seconds shows they can turn on the speed when needed. Look instead at Romek, who put away five captures on an evening where two of their own map designs, Huna and Ankh, produced tight 3-2 results. Romek and Skuldug have never been placed on the same side all season. Watching Romek push the lane while Skuldug locks down the returns is a combination I would very much like to see handed a shared shirt next week.

  10. Time to let ED ASSMASTER and Medeo run together

    Tue, 4 Aug 2026

Five nights into this season and we are still watching ED ASSMASTER and Medeo stand on opposite sides of the floor. They faced each other again tonight, extending their run to sixteen matches against one another, which remains the highest total between any two players in the league. I know why it happens. The server split is deliberate to keep the veteran defender opposite a natural flag carrier so things stay balanced. Still, from up here on the gantry with my clipboard, it is getting exasperating. I want to see ED ASSMASTER holding the home base while Medeo carries on the same side just once.

We did get something fresh tonight, with Fatoon and J!nX sharing shirts together for the first time all season. Meanwhile, Romek spent the evening lined up alongside Medeo, J!nX, and SiD. Romek and ED ASSMASTER still lead the league for playing together most often at nine matches, though we have not seen them on the same side since the end of July. If the room is willing to give us new combinations like Fatoon with J!nX, then next week I want to see the big one. Put ED ASSMASTER and Medeo together for a set. I am entirely happy to be proven wrong about how it looks, but it is the pairing I want to watch.

  11. Romek and ED ASSMASTER keep winning when paired

    Fri, 31 Jul 2026

We saw ED ASSMASTER and Romek paired up again tonight, bringing their total to nine matches on the same side across the season with seven wins between them. Romek brings a mapper's eye for routes while ED ASSMASTER locks down the base, posting the most frags tonight with 434. Yet across fifteen matches now, ED ASSMASTER has lined up opposite Medeo, which remains the defining defensive split on the server. Medeo logged the quickest clean flag run tonight at 11.3 seconds, reminding everyone of what happens when a natural capper gets a clean corridor.

J!nX spent much of the evening sweeping up near the flag, securing the most flag returns tonight with three, while SiD pulled off the longest streak of the night at 20 frags. Meanwhile, Medeo and SiD were put together again tonight, bringing their tally to seven matches on the same side, though they have only three wins to show for it so far. It is a pairing that looks promising with two long-standing players, yet tonight brought more close overtime matches, including the ones on Huna b8 and Tesseract.

What I would like to see next week is a genuine shakeup at the top. Server balancing intentionally splits the strongest players, which explains why ED ASSMASTER and Medeo have never been placed on the same side across all four nights of play. Still, I want to see those two put together for a few matches just to watch how an old-school defender and a natural carrier operate when they share a shirt colour. Putting Romek on the opposite side to test them would give us plenty to talk about.

  12. Four one flag finishes and a masterclass on the run

    Thu, 30 Jul 2026

Four of tonight's six matches were decided by a single flag, with Relic Seeker and Rail Fight both pushed into overtime. It was a grinding, restless evening from where I sit on the gantry. Romek finished with 11 captures in just four matches, including a 9.9 second clean run, on a night that saw two of their own creations in Ankh b12 and Huna b8 back on the rotation. Meanwhile, OddBaal did the thankless work down low, finishing with six flag returns across five matches.

Fatoon dropped in for just two matches tonight and walked off with six captures, matching the total racked up by both ED ASSMASTER and SiD across six full games. ED ASSMASTER spent those six games in relentless combat, topping the night with 329 frags. We saw ED ASSMASTER and Romek end up on the same side again tonight, extending their run to seven matches together this season, while ED ASSMASTER and Medeo spent yet another night on opposite ends of the map.

I know the server splits the veteran talent on purpose to balance the games, but I still want to see ED ASSMASTER and Medeo wearing the same shirt just once. Watching Medeo, who put up the quickest clean run of the night at 9.1 seconds, pushing forward while ED ASSMASTER anchors the base is the exact setup I would like to watch from the clipboard gantry next time. If that is off the cards, put Fatoon and Romek together on an offensive line and let us see what happens.
